Imphal, June 23 2022: Troops of Tengnoupal Battalion of IGAR (S) foiled cross border smuggling of contrabands near Chalwa village, Tengnoupal district on Thursday.

According to PRO IGAR(S), Assam Rifles troops during border domination patrol found packages concealed in dense foliage near Chalwa village.

On thorough search of the packages, contraband items including liquor, cigarettes, food items and electronic items assessed to be worth Rs 6.05 lakh were recovered, the PRO said in a release, adding that the recovered items have been handed over to Customs Representative, Moreh for further investigation.
