United People's Front (UPF) would be observing Martyrs' Day on August 13 at 22 different places of the State.
UPF president Mangi announced this during a press conference at the office of the Front this afternoon.
He said it is the duty of the present generation to remember the sacrifices made by their forefathers and bequest build up a national character as legacy for the generations to come.
The places where the observance function of the Martyrs' Day is to be organised are Ningthoukhong, Nongmaikhong, Matai, Khurai, Mayanglangjing, Ithai, Thoubal, Arapti, Tentha & Langathel, Lilong, Lamlai, Langthabal, Lairenkabi, Phoubakchao, Thangmeiband, Moirang, Bishnupur, Wangkhem, Leisangthem, Kakching Khunou, Mayang Imphal and Nambol.
