One arrested with Rs 1.5 lakh cash

Imphal, October 03 2026: A combined team of security forces including personnel of Imphal West Commandos arrested an alleged member of the NSCN-IM and seized cash amounting to Rs 1.5 lakh yesterday.

The arrested person has been identified as MS Chekneichung Chiru alias Achung Chiru (42) of Bungte Chiru, Kangpokpi district.

He was arrested during a search operation at Chingmeirong Tangkhul Avenue under Lamphel police station, said the police.
