Anti-Malaria Month observed in Tamenglong

District Vector Borne Diseases Control Society, Tamenglong observed 'Anti-Malaria Month 2014' today at the Tamenglong headquarters auditorium.
A discussion meeting on the topic "Control & Containment of Malaria & Other Vector Borne Diseases" was held at the auditorium, as part of the observation.
At the deliberation, Dr Chambo Gonmei, Medical Officer, Tamenglong, emphasised the importance of taking bigger role by every Government Departments particularly the Education, Works and PHE Departments in the efforts to control spreading of vector borne diseases.
Education Department can organise awareness programmes on vector borne diseases in schools while the public should try to join in the fight against malaria, which is endemic, with the benefits of sanitation programmes taken up by the PHED , he said.
He said it is important for the Works Department to ensure proper connectivity so that the public in remote areas can access to healthcare.
Taking part in the discussion meeting, Dr Z Kamei, Programme Officer, District AIDS Control Society, Tamenglong, appealed to the medical staff in the far-off areas of the hills to execute duty well.
