Imphal, October 21 2015: Iodine deficiency
Community Food and Nutrition Extension Unit, Ministry of Women and Child Development in collaboration with ICDS Project, Imphal West-I, Lamsang observed Global Iodine Deficiency Disorders Prevention Day 2015 at Tera Tongbram Leikai Maning Leirak today.

Bijoy Govinda Gram Panchayat Pradhan N Rani, Ward No 6 member T Seityabhama and Lamshang ICDS project CDPO T Lukamani attended the function as presidium members.

One OGW held
Based on specific intelligence regarding movement of an overground worker, troops of 22 Assam Rifles of 28 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of Hqs IGAR (S) along with Thoubal police commandos launched a joint operation at Waikhong bazar and apprehended an over ground worker of KCP (MC) yesterday.

The apprehendee has been identified as Y Homen Kumar (40) s/o Y Pishak of Langmeidong in Thoubal district.

He has been handed over to Waikhong police station, said a press release issued by PRO Hqs IGAR (S) .

Lamlai Kumhei concludes
The annual pre-harvest celebration of "Lamlai Kumhei" concluded with cultural grandeur today at Khudei Khunou, Chandel, our correspondent reports.

Men, women and children, clad in cultural attires danced to the rthythm of the traditional beats marking the end of the three-day long celebration.

BSF golden jubilee yr observed
The Subsidiary Training Centre, Border Security Force (BSF), Churachandpur organised a programme to mark the BSF Golden Jubilee Year 2015 today.

Honouring late Constable Lhunkho Hao of 123 Bn BSF and late Constable S Kham Zagou of 83 Bn BSF, family members of both the BSF martyrs were bestowed with mementos and shawls.

The programme was also attended by Churachandpur DC Lunminthang Haokip.

Power shutdown
There will be power Shutdown of 11KV Tiddim-II feeder and 11KV Ghari feeder from 8 am to 4 From Oct 23 to 25 for removal of MS poles and installation of double pole along Tiddim Road under R-APDRP(B) .

The consumers in Keishampat, Kwakeithel etc area where power supply is fed by the aforesaid feeders will not get electricity during the period, informed a statement issued by the MSPDCL.

Directorate of Commerce and Industries informed the intending weavers, artisans and entrepreneurs that submission of application for the participation in Manipur Sangai Festival 2015 should be done online on the website, www.dcimanipur.gov.in.

Submission/registration through other channels would not be entertained, said a press release.

I Bijoy passes away
Irengbam Bijoy, a former Law Secretary and Chairman of MPSC, passed away at his residence located at Uripok Gopalji Leirak today due to an illness.

He was 86 .

Bijoy is survived by his wife, three sons and two daughters.
