Imphal, November 10 2008:
A rationalisation exercise to find out the total number of teachers required for schools under the Department of Education (Schools) and to identify schools with teacher shortage as well as schools having excess teachers has been initiated.
Rationalisation work for Zone-I has already been completed.
According to an official source, rationalisation work for schools under Zone-I has been completed.
The report may be tabled in a Cabinet meeting soon.
At present, rationalisation work for schools under others zones of the Department is going on, informed the source.
