Team Nishikant reaches out to displaced people again

Team Nishikant continues to provide relief materials to people, displaced and left stranded by the violent conflict that unfolded on May 3 .
Under the guidance of MLA Nishikant Singh Sapam today, the team provided essential items to relief camps opened at Imphal East, Imphal West and Thoubal district.
The team provided relief materials including edible items, drinking water and water tanks, buckets, soaps, biscuits and other essential items to relief camps at Tairenpokpi, Yairipok Yambem, Angtha, Lamlai and Sekta etc.
Earlier, on May 9, Team Nishikant had provided relief materials to several relief camps at
Bishnupur.
Flagging off Team Nishikant from his house at Sega Road, Thouda Bhabok Leikai, MLA Nishikant Singh Sapam said thousands have been displaced and are seeking safe shelter at relief camps opened in several districts.
He said Team Nishikant focuses on providing relief materials to people in camps in the hard to reach interior areas.
These people in the camps have not been provided proper care and relief materials.
While encouraging his team, Nishikant lauded other organisations, clubs and individuals who are providing relief materials to the camps opened across the State.
Speaking on the conflict, Nishikant said on National media, a particular community has been portrayed in the wrong light and is being blamed for starting the conflict.
He has given an interview in Hindi to a National media to bring clarity
on the issue and the cause of the conflict, said Nishikant, adding the views he presented were not one sided or biased in nature.
What he said in the interview was only the "truth", he said.
"The unfortunate conflict was due to misunderstanding and communication gap between the two communities.
What has happened has happened, but it must not continue.
Sanity should prevail and people should take up concerted efforts to remain calm and bring about a peaceful solution.
Manipur, inhabited and coexisted by different communities, is for all," Nishikant said.
He also mentioned that Chief Minister N Biren Singh and his Government is taking up all efforts to bring the law and order under control and contain any violent clashes.
Nishikant said that the Chief Minister had stated that after the tension is defused, the actors who had instigated the people and started the string of violence first would be identified and punished according to the law.
While the Government is ensuring that the hill based underground outfits adhere to the ground rules of the Suspension of Operations (SoO) agreement, appropriate actions will be taken up against those organisations which have broken the terms of the SoO.
The Ministers and the MLAs are holding constant meetings over the conflict and the present situation.
All efforts are being taken up to save lives and properties of the people and State, he said.
Nishikant urged people to remain calm, overcome their anger to bring lasting peace and tranquillity in the State.
