Imphal, April 05 2009: The Manipur University Sstudents Union has rubbished all the allegations made by the DESAM against Ksh Narayan including the reported splashing of tea over DESAM functionaries.

A statement issued by general secretary of MUSU Ananda Chongtham said that continued argument with DESAM which allegedly has not received proper higher education would affect the study of MUSU even though the same may not affect DESAM.

He further accused DESAM of trying to botched up the protest sitting staged by students and teachers including the Vice Chancellor against the alleged life attempt on Ksh Narayan and Ng Milan, with the help of some students, though without success.

Further, DESAM enacted a drama in MU Men's Hostel No-1 with their own men.

Again, they tried to disrupt the protest demonstrating by attempting to link it up with the drama.

But the actors of the drama��Sanjoy and Romesh were rounded up by the protesting students.

The two were later released with a warning.

Pointing out the loopholes in the drama allegedly enacted by DESAM, the MUSU said that the MU main gate was closed as the students and teachers were staging a protest sitting at the entrance.

As such, there was no possibility of the persons who reportedly came in a van and attempted to abduct students from the hostel through the main gate.

Moreover, there was a good number of security personnel at the main gate.

The drama would have been enacted with a motive to sideline the issue arising out of the assault on Narayan and Milan, the MUSU asserted.

Regarding the agitation in connection with recruitment of one Physics Professor, the MUSU asserted that the agitation was based on the advertisements made on the matter in national newspapers.

However, the agitation did not affect regular class of the university.

During the prolonged period of Ashirjit's days in MU, no functionary of the MUSU could detect the fraud .

It was during the time of Narayan that the fraudulent act of Ashirjit was detected, it claimed adding that this was a result of Narayan's efforts.

This may also be taken as an achievement of the Manipur University as well as of the people.

The attitude and mentality of DESAM was reflected clearly in its alleged decision to exercise all its might against MUSU for it was because of MUSU's strong pressure that Ashirjit was expelled from MU.

Alleging that DESAM is infuriated over MUSU for exposing the forged certificate, the MUSU declared that it fears none for MUSU is always fighting for truth.

It also accused DESAM of attempting to apply a of theory of 'Might is Right' in the society.

Observing that cancellation of the degree certificate given to Ashirjit by MU was made public only on April 4, although it mentioned that the MA Degree in Philosophy given to Ashirjit by MU was withdrawn on February 15 this year.

In this regard, the MUSU asked as to why cancellation of the certificate given to Ashirjit was not published during this long intervening period.

It questioned wether the delay was a result of any conspiracy between the MU authority and Ashirjit or because of threat from DESAM.

As it has been confirmed that Ashirjit admitted in MU with forged certificate, the MU authority, in the interest of the university and its students, should work to recoup the huge amount sanctioned during the tenure of Ashirjit as MUSU president, it demanded.

Stating that university is the highest place of learning, it asked DESAM not to advise MUSU on 'social ABC'.

Appealing to the public to analyse the act of conferring names of hero to those who attacked the office of MUSU, it remarked that it would have been more authentic had these title of hero was given by public.

Nevertheless, MUSU would welcome arrangement of DESAM leaders to bring an end to the issue after returning the articles allegedly taken away by DESAM volunteers after attacking at the MUSU office.

MUSU further listed the lost articles as spectacles of the MUSU president, Airtel Data card (internet), external HDD 160 GB (laptop HDD with caching) and important documents of MUSU and MU.
