Sensitization programme on social issues of Kangleipak held

A 1-Day Sensitization Programme on "Social Issues of Kangleipak (Manipur)- Women and Child Protection" was held today at the Thangjing Hall of Manipur Press Club, Imphal.
The programme organised by Chanura Lamchinglel Kangleipak (CLK) was graced by dignitaries, including Keisham Pradeepkumar, Chairman, Manipur Commission for Protection of Child Rights (MCPCR); Prof Binota Meinam, former Chairperson, Manipur State Commission for Women; A Noutuneshwari, retired District & Session Judge and Chingsubam Pakpi Chanu, president, CLK.
Speaking on the occasion, Chingsubam Pakpi expressed concern over the rising cases of crimes against women & children in the State.
She asserted that the programme was conducted with the aim to raise awareness about various social problems within the community, foster empathy, encourage critical thinking and promote social change.
Moreover, the District Handloom and Textiles, Imphal West also organised a "Sensitization and awareness programme on financial literacy and Government schemes for weavers/artisans" at Heigrujam Mamang Leikai Community Hall on February 28, 2025 .
The programme was attended by Vikram Suresh Nadhe, DFO, Central Forest Division, Mantripukhri; L Dasumati, Project Manager, District Handloom & Textiles, Imphal West; Thokchom Basanta, Deputy Director, Directorate of Handloom & Textiles; and A Loken, General Manager, DIC, Imphal West as presidium members.
Roshan Singh, Branch Manager, Bank of Baroda, Changangei; M Gautam, Branch Manager, Bank of Baroda, Yurembam and Hamom Premlata, Branch Manager, Manipur Rural Bank, Khumbong were present at the event.
