Infighting will only benefit Delhi, says RPF

Imphal, November 12 2011: Taking strong exception to the in-fighting and internal conflicts among different indigenous communities, the proscribed RPF has categorically stated that the indigenous communities have nothing to gain from such conflicts and it is India which would gain maximum advantage.

A press release issued by the outfit's Publicity Secretary T Leisemba alleged that the Government has been continuously conspiring to create conflicts and animosity among different communities of Manipur.

Such sinister design of the Government of India can be traced to the writings of Indian philosopher Chanakya who existed about 2000 years ago.

The people are witnesses to the fact that NSCN (IM) has been working together with the Indian military after 1997 and they have been operating freely in the hill districts of Manipur.

Notwithstanding the collective voice of the people that cease-fire pact signed between the Government of India and NSCN(IM) should not be enforced in Manipur, the Government of India and the Government of Manipur have been giving a free hand to NSCN (IM) to operate within the territory of Manipur so that Manipur can be disintegrated into several fragments.

Isak Chisi Swu and Th Muivah who dedicated their lives for the cause of Naga nation, the latter under Suisa formed NSCN(IM) in 1980 with the goal of liberating of Naga people from the yoke of alien rule.

Many leaders of influential Naga NGOs and church leaders were hopeful that Isak Chisi Swu and Muivah would emancipate the people of Nagaland from their distress.

NSCN(IM) leadership who lambasted AZ Phizo and Shillong Accord 1975 for allegedly betraying Naga people and selling off their rights have been working together hand in gloves with the Government of India.

Together with the Indian Government, NSCN (IM) has been creating chaos and confusion in the neighbouring States.

They are also instrumental in igniting communal clashes at different occasions where a large number of people and revolutionary cadres were killed.

Starting from the early period of 1979, around 1614 people were killed in Yimchunger, Khiamniungan, Lotha, Chakeshang, Angami, Sema and Shepoumaramth regions of Nagaland as well as Zeliangrong and Tangkhul villages of Manipur.

In the aftermath of the cease-fire pact signed between the Government of India and NSCN (IM) around 300 people have been killed.

This was followed by a bloody clash between NSCN (IM) and NCSN (K) in which many innocent people including infants were murdered.

In the ethnic clash between Nagas and Kukis which started from June 1992 and continued till 1999, around 534 Kukis and 266 Nagas were killed in addition to crippling 402 Nagas and Kukis.

Altogether 5724 houses belonging to both Kukis and Nagas were reduced to ashes.

The Government of India had its hands in the clash between Meeteis and Meitei Pangals in 1993. The Government of India and the Government of Manipur have been deliberately trying to obscure the fact that Meitei Pangals are sons and daughters of the soil born to Manipuri women.

Not satisfied with all these internal clashes and internecine killings, the Government of India has succeeded in pitching Zeliangrong United Front (ZUF) against NSCN (IM) in Khoupum valley of Tamenglong district.

In line with such sinister policy, the Government of India, who is also proud master several draconian laws, has been scheming to create divisions and keep the indigenous communities disunited, the RPF alleged.

"But we must understand that the indigenous communities have nothing to gain from such conflicts but it is only India which would come out victorious at the end", added the outfit.
