Silver Jubilee of SARGAM held

Imphal, September 11 2017:
Music band SARGAM celebrated its Silver Jubilee foundation day at Young Progressive Athletic Club (YPAC) community hall at Keishamthong Elangbam Leikai, today .
As a part of the event, the participants paid floral tributes to the deceased members of SARGAM and also observed two minutes silence as a mark of respect .
Three well known artists were also felicitated in the event.
Speaking as the chief guest, Minister of Art and Culture, L Jayentakumar Singh said that SARGAM, aside from being a performing and institutional body, is also working tirelessly to preserve and develop the varied cultural activities of the State .
He also expressed belief that SARGAM will play a big part in the art and culture space and assured to provide any possible support .
Speaking at the event, SARGAM president Mayengbam Dhananjoy said that SARGAM Performing Cum Musical Institute was founded by singers, artists, folk artists and art lover in the year 1992 with the aim of developing the folk music, traditional songs etc of the State.
