IIIT Manipur inks MoU with MU

Imphal, January 30 2025: The Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), Manipur signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Manipur University (MU) on Thursday.

In a release, IIIT Manipur informed that as per the MoU signed, the institutions shall focus on strengthening the bilateral academic and research collaborations with the aim to generate funding through joint research multi-institutional proposals, semester exchange programmes, internships and projects for the students, and joint workshops/seminars/conferences among others.

The MoU was signed by MU vice chancellor Prof Naorem Lokendra Singh and IIIT, Manipur director Prof Krishnan Baskar in the presence of MU School of Engineering dean Prof Na-meirakpam Basanta Singh and IIIT, Manipur registrar Dr Nongmeikapam Kishorjit.

Recently, Government of India established a 5G lab at IIIT, Manipur as one among the 100 institutions in the country to aid the faculty members collaborate and conduct joint researches and establish labs beyond 5G, the release added.
