NIT-M observes Ambedkar birth anniversary

Imphal, April 15 2025: National Institute of Technology (NIT), Manipur celebrated the 134th birth anniversary of Dr BR Ambedkar at its Imphal campus to honour his life, legacy and contributions.

The observance was attended by Kakching MLA M Rameshwar Singh, NIT registrar Prof Tomba and NIT Prof Kh Manglem.

Speaking on the occasion, MLA Rameshwar highlighted Dr Ambedkar's enduring vision for an inclusive and equitable India.

He also encouraged the youth to follow and uphold Ambedkar's vision on education, equality and social justice.

In his speech, NIT registrar Prof Tomba shared the relevance of Ambedkar's philosophy in today's context while Prof Kh Manglem reflected on Ambedkar's intellectual legacy and his role in shaping modern India.
