Kamakhya artistes shine at drama festival

Imphal, January 13 2025: The result of the 23rd Rupmahal Artistes Memorial Drama Festival-2024-25 organised by Rupmahal theatre has been declared with Kamakhya Artistes' Association (KAA), Hiyangthang's "Bhanumati" and "Loikum Loika" of Imphal Theatre, Wangkhei Tokpam Leikai respectively bagging the best and second-best production awards.

In a release, Rupmahal Theatre secretary H Achouba Sharma informed that Soibamcha Indrakumar of KAA won the best director and best script awards for the play 'Bhanumati' .

Thangjam Shalini of KAA bagged the best actress and best make up titles, while Brideep Yanglem of Yumjao Lairembi Dramatic & Cultural Union won the best actor award for the play 'Lemna Tharoi' .

KAA's H Tejamani and Rahul won the best stage and light title respectively; Surjit Kshetri adjudged winner of the best music title and S Anand honoured with the best dress & costume title.

Meanwhile, Baby O Bhumika Devi of Yumjao Lairembi Dramatic & Cultural Union bagged the best child artiste award for 'Lemna Tharoi', M Barun of Imphal Theatre, Wangkhei was named the best comedian, Monalisha Art & Cultural Association won the best discipline award for the play 'Shri Govinda Nirupon' besides bagging the best publicity award.
