PSB launches gold mortgage scheme

Punjab and Sind Bank (PSB) has introduced its gold mortgage scheme on Tuesday with health and services for director Dr Ch Chandramani launching the same at PSB branch office located at Dewlahland.
Speaking on the occasion, Chandramani expressed confidence that the scheme will provide immense benefit to the people of Manipur.
Amid the hardships brought by Covid-19 pandemic and large sections of the society, especially the dairy wage earn -ers finding it difficult to make both ends meet, procuring loan from financial institutions has been out of reach of many due to high interest rates.
As such, introduction of gold mortgage scheme by the PSB at low interest rate will certainly benefit the people, he opined.
According to PSB senior manager M Baleshwor, the processing charge will not be levied from customers taking loan under the scheme.
In addition to it, the interest rate is only seven per cent per annum, he said.
Stating that the scheme may be availed in other branches of the bank as well, Baleshwor urged the people to take advantage of the scheme.
