Imphal, April 30 2023: International Dance Day was celebrated by Department of Art and Culture at Chandrikirti hall, Palace Compound, here, on Saturday.

Speaking at the event, Art and Culture commissioner M Joy informed that the event calendar of the department has been produced with the objective of organising different cultural events in the state.

State and national awardees in the field of dance were presented with gifts on the occasion.

The celebration was also attended by Art and Culture director L Kishorjit as one of the presidium members.

Meanwhile, the Department of Dance and Music of Manipur University organised World Dance Day at the university with vice chancellor Prof N Lokendra, Dance ND Music department head in-charge Dr P Lilabati and MU School of Humanities dean professor N Aruna as chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively.
