Imphal Airport to have its own PS

Imphal, January 25 2025:
Imphal International Airport (IIA) director Chipemmi Keishing has informed that the Airport will have its own police station in the first week of February.
He made the statement while handing over 30 road barricades to Imphal West SP Kshetrimayum Shivakanta on behalf of Airport Authority of India, IIA, at the SP s office in Babupara here on Saturday.
In this regard, IIA director Chipemmi Keishing informed that the ongoing construction of a police station at the airport in nearing completion, with the police barrack, kitchen, restroom and others to be completed by this month end.
The PS would then likely be handed over to Manipur Police in the first week of February, he said, adding that AAI and IIA will extend all possible support to state police in maintaining law and order, and in managing the traffic in the vicinity of the airport.
Imphal West SP Kshetrimayum Shivakanta appreciated the gesture by IIA and also lauded the efforts made by the latter till date.
The hand-over ceremony was also attended by DIG Range-1 N Herojit.
