MCM appeals CM to aid resettlement

Imphal, July 23 2024: A 10-member delegation of Meetei Council Moreh (MCM) called on chief minister N Biren on Monday and apprised him on conditions of displaced people from Moreh while urging for their early resettlement and rehabilitation.

The delegation highlighted the grievances of displaced people from Moreh, financial issues and health concerns, and urged the CM to treat those displaced people living with relatives and friends outside the relief camps as displaced people and provide similar assistance to them as well.

The CM told the delegation that the government is taking up measures to ensure early resettlement and rehabilitation of the displaced people.

He also assured them of looking into their grievances through the senior officials of the departments concerned.
