6 polling stations to go for repoll on Apr 30

Imphal, April 28 2024:
Altogether six polling stations of Outer Manipur Parliamentary Constituency would be going to repoll on April 30 as per a notification issued by the Election Commission of India.
Polling held at four polling stations of 44-Ukhrul AC, one polling station of 45-Chingai AC and another polling station of 47-Karong AC on April 26 has been declared void by the ECI, according to a press release issued by Chief Electoral Officer, Manipur Pradeep Kumar Jha.
As such, 44/20 Shangshak (A), 44/36 Ukhrul (A), 44/41 Ukhrul (D-1), 44/50 Ukhrul (F), 45/14 Chingai and 47/33 Oinam (A1) would be going to repoll on April 30 .
The repoll would start at 7 am and continue till 4 pm.
Notably, polling held at these polling stations on April 26 was marred by violence, confrontations and disruptions during which some materials such as EVMs and VVPAT machines were damaged/destroyed.
Incidentally, Congress party was demanding repoll at 19 polling stations (17 in Ukhrul AC and two in Phungyar AC) .
