Two held in HSLC question leak uproar BOSEM seeks stern action

While hailing Cyber Crime Police Imphal for swiftly tracking down the individuals involved in leaking HSLC Exam questions, BOSEM Controller of Examination Ayam Thoi has asserted that befitting action would be taken up against the school from where the questions were leaked.
Speaking to media persons at BOSEM office today, Ayam Thoi said that BOSEM officials have been working hard day and night to conduct the ongoing HSLC Exam 2025 in a free and fair manner.
However, there was a report that the question paper of Social Science was leaked through social media on February 25 .
On receiving the report, BOSEM lodged a complaint with the Cyber Crime Police and the Cyber Crime Police managed to pull up two teachers who are suspected to be the main accused of the question paper leak case within a very short time, Ayam Thoi said.
BOSEM will extend full support to the police investigation to find out if any other persons are involved in the case.
Moreover, BOSEM will make sure that all the people involved in the case are punished as per law, the Controller of Examination said.
As soon as a report is received from the police, BOSEM will also take a decision in consultation with the relevant committees on what action should be taken up against Little Star English Higher Secondary School, Thoubal Haokha for its involvement in leaking the Social Science question paper, he said.
He also appealed to all the people to support BOSEM in its efforts to conduct the ongoing HSLC Exam in a free and fair manner.
The Controller of Examination appealed to all sections of people not to ever encourage students to take recourse to unfair means while giving any exam.
BOSEM Chairman Akham Joykumar was also present at the press meet.
Meanwhile DESAM has demanded life imprisonment of the two individuals arrested for leaking the question paper.
Speaking to media persons at their Kwakeithel office today, DESAM secretary general N Thoithoiba said that the question paper of Social Science got leaked on February 25 around 30 minutes before commencement of the exam.
Little Star English Higher Secondary School, Thoubal Haokha AOC Samadram Meghachandra and Vice Principal Yumnam Ranjit have been arrested in connection with leaking the question paper.
Thoithoiba also hailed cyber crime unit, Manipur Police for their swift action and successful arrest of the two main accused.
He then demanded life imprisonment of the two accused under the Manipur Prevention of Malpractices In High School Leaving Certificate and Higher Secondary Examination Act 2024 .
He also appealed to all lawyers not to support the two accused as they were trying to poison the student community and ruin the whole society.
The involvement of a teacher and a school founder who is also the Vice Principal of Little Star English Higher Secondary School is a serious blot to the entire teaching fraternity and all school founders.
In the interest of the whole society and the student community, BOSEM should de-recognise Little Star English Higher Secondary School for its founder was running the school like a drug business, said the DESAM secretary general.
He also urged the Chief Secretary to take serious note of the case and initiate befitting action against all the culprits.
Thoithoiba further urged all organisations of schools and teachers to take up necessary action against the two individuals arrested for leaking HSLC Exam question paper.
