ILPS stir refuses to ebb away

People continued to stage demonstrations at different parts of the State demanding implementation of ILPS today as well.
The Apunba Lup Salungpham today organised a public rally under the aegis of Joint Committee on Inner Line Permit System (JCILPS) and its students wing demanding implementation of ILP in the State.
The rally was participated by general public, the meira paibis, clubs members of the area and also the students.
The rally participants gathered in the Salungpham community hall for a public meeting during which two resolutions were adopted.
The meeting decided to support ILP movement to its last phase and also not to cooperate with non local people in Salungpham area until and unless the goal of the movement is achieved.
On the other hand, sit in protests were held for ILP implementation at Shikhong, Nongpok Sekmai Bazaar, Kakching Khunou bazaar, Langmeidong Bazaar.

The student protesters shouted slogans like, 'Enforce ILPS immediately' and 'Release arrested agitators' .
Later, a public meeting, held at Salungpham Veterinary ground, resolved not to purchase goods from non-locals at Salungpham area.
Students of Eternal Spring School staged a sit-in-protest at Sekta.
Similar protests were also staged at Singjamei Wangma Kshetri Leikai, Langol Games Village, Naoremthong, Sagolband Moirang Hanuba Leirak, Heirangoithong, Koirengei, Mayang Langjing, Chajing Mairenkhong, Phundrei, Leirongthel, Nongpok Sekmai, Kakmayai, Kyamgei Heibong Makhong, Thongju Pheija Leitong, Uripok Bachaspati Leikai, Samurou and Naorem etc.
Meanwhile, CPI Manipur today launched a 3 days sit-in protest demanding implementation of Inner Line Permit System in the State at Irabot Bhawan, Imphal.
CPI Manipur's Sotinkumar asserted that the sit-in protest demanded unconditional release of women who were arrested during the protest.
He also condemned the use of violence by the State force on students and stated that police personnel involved in the brutal crack down should be given befitting punishment at the earliest.
The 3-days sit-in protest was also joined by All Manipur Trade Union, Manipur Loumi Lup, All India Youth Federation Manipur, All India Students Federation, students of Johnstone Higher Secondary school and ASHA workers.
