More than 50 students from various colleges under Delhi University attended the screening as DEKS executive members N Rajeshwar, Dr Bobo, and Dr Memita welcomed and felicitated the award-winning filmmaker.
The film, which highlights themes of displacement, tradition, and the impact of unchecked development, was well-received by the audience.
During the discussion, director Romi Meitei addressed a range of questions from the participants, focusing on issues such as predatory development, gender inequality, and the current state of Manipuri cinema.
He noted that while development is necessary - particularly in developing nations - it should be approached with sensitivity to local stories, indigenous livelihoods, values, and traditions.
Responding to a question on gender inequality and the representation of women in Manipur, Romi acknowledged their relevance and emphasised that his films strive to reflect the societal realities.
