Imphal, February 06 2025: At least 32 people were arrested on the charge of power theft during drives conducted by officials of Manipur State Power Distribution Company Limited (MSPDCL) in different areas from February 3 to 6.In a release, MSPDCL general manager Ng Kirankumar informed that two people were arrested in areas covered by IED-III division, 16 under IED-IV, nine in Bishnupur, three in Kangpokpi, and one each in Kakching and Thoubal division for power theft.

Moreover, 28 consumers were disconnected for failure to clear their outstanding electricity bill.

The release further said that the anti-power theft drive will continue in future.
