Imphal, September 18 2024:
A joint meeting convened by Tousem Headquarters Students' Union (THSU) on Wednesday at Tamenglong district headquarters with representatives of Zeme Students' Organisation Manipur (ZSOM), Tousem Area Students' Organisation (TASO), and Chramram Segment Voice (CSV) unanimously resolved to endorse the demand for reallocation of the SDO office to Tousem sub-division headquarters and to launch agitations if the government continues to ignore the memorandum submitted to the chief minister on August 16 .
In a joint release, THSU president Haijeuying Newme, ZSOM general secretary Siatuilang Newme, TASO joint secretary Ojim Daimai and CSV president Loveson Kamei lamented that the memorandum submitted with a 30-day ultimatum has not evoked positive response from the government, thereby implying that authorities are undermining legitimate demands of the people.
"We hereby appeal the government to address this issue promptly and avoid further escalation," they cautioned.
