Imphal, June 27: Observing the tense situation in Manipur in the wake of the cease-fire extension agreement the NSCN (IM), the NSCN (K) urged all the concerned to be fully aware of the futility of crating unrest among different communities in the state.

�The centralized and dictatorial system of the Isak-Muivah group of (NSCN) negates the aspiration of the Nagas� stated the spokesman and urged different organization not to arouse communal feelings in the state �just in the name of NSCN (IM) who opposes unification but practices �suppress and rule� policy�.

PTI report from Kohima adds: NSCN(IM) today appealed to all national political parties to refrain from reaping political mileage from reaping the present situation arising out of the extension of ceasefire in the North-East and contribute to finding an amicable settlement to the Naga problem.

All concerned should make concerted efforts to fructify the on-going peace process and �those who oppose the peace initiative are for war and blood shed�, said the outfit in a statement released to the press through its information and publicity wing.

It urged parties not to take �advantage of the present situation for their political mileage� following commotion up by a section of the people who are opposed to the on-going peace process.

Asserting that the cease fire is �universal� the NSCN (IM) statement said the Nagas have been restraining themselves to the �maximum:� to give time to the neighboring states to reconcile themselves to the historical truth that the once peaceful Nagalim was fragmented by the then Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru and U Nu of Myanmar into five different parts without the consent of the Nagas.

The five parts are � present Nagaland state, some portions in Assam and north-western part of Myanmar, said the statement.

The NSCN(IM) statement asserted that the Nagas would not allow a few emotional youths of Manipur, Assam or Arunachal Pradesh as well as the disgruntle state politician to hijack the hard �earned peace process.

It is the cherished desire and wish of the Naga people to live peaceful lives within the Naga ancestral homeland, it said adding they (the Nagas) had been struggling for their rights from before independence.

The statement said it would be unfortunate on the part of others to claim legitimacy over the �Naga territories based on what was temporarily designed for strategic convinces without the consent of the Nagas.

When all Naga inhabited areas were brought under the purview of the first cease-fire in 1964 there was no opposition to it from any quarter.

Rather it was welcomed by all sections of the people and political parties, it said.
