Imphal, May 21 2016 :
While conveying gratitude to all the people for making the 38 hours bandh a resounding success, the JCILPS has declared that they would take the mass agitation to Government offices and political parties apart from taking out torch rallies at night.
Speaking to media persons at their Sega Road office this afternoon, JCILPS convenor Khomdram Ratan called upon all the people to take out torch rallies in the night of May 23 .
People would march to offices of political parties on May 24, and Government offices on subsequent days.
Decrying that the State Government as well as political parties active in the State have been paying little attention to the ongoing mass movement, Ratan lamented that the all political party delegation is yet to leave Imphal for Delhi in connection with the three pending Bills.
Leaving aside the three Bills, the State Government is yet to initiate any action regarding establishment of po- pulation commission, land reforms commission and detection and deportation of outsiders even though an agreement was inked to this effect between JCILPS and the State Government on August 25 last year.
Whereas all the political parties have been concentrating their focus on the IMC election, no political party bothered to speak about the ILPS issue during their election campaigns.
Given their lackadaisical attitude, political parties as well as Government offices serve no purpose for the masses, Ratan asserted.
JCILPS is hopeful that no outsiders would come out to cast their votes in the IMC election on their own volition.
It is the responsibility of all the indigenous peoples to protect themselves from the onslaught of incessant influx.
Once the population of non-local people overwhelm the local people, all the indigenous peoples would be reduced to the status of refugees in their own home land.
Survival or extinction of the indigenous peoples hinges on the ongoing campaign.
He also condoled the death of a man in the course of the bandh at Uripok.
JCILPS would investigate whether the man was killed in road accident or under some other circumstances.
Ratan further conveyed regret over the hindrances posed by bandh supporters to a team of media persons led by the AMWJU president at Khurai Sajor Leikai.
He then reiterated the JCILPS' appeal to relax all kinds of agitation for essential services, media, medical services and religious functions.
