RPF and its armed wing PLA have offered revolutionary salutes to Pte Konthoujam Samananda alias Nanao Meitei s/o K Manihar of Wathalambi Awang Leikai, Bishnupur district who was killed by personnel of 7 Assam Rifles during an encounter on August 30 last at Salan Konjil.
The outfit and its armed wing also shared in the grief of the bereaved family members and friends, said assistant chief of department of communication and publicity of RPF N Wangba in a statement.
Stating that confrontation with the enemies and the sacrifices are inevitable during the course of freedom struggle, the statement pledged that RPF and its armed wing PLA will continue to fight till the final goal is achieved.
Meanwhile, in a separate statement, the outfit has clarified certain points with regard to the news report which said that two MPLF cadres were killed in an encounter with the Burmese army.
The statement said that that though RPF is a consitituent unit of the MPLF, apart from issuing joint statements against the security forces, the units of the MPLF have not been able to work together for some time due to some reasons.
Therefore the report that the MPLF was engaged in a shoot out with the Burmese army is wrong.
