ECI recognises RPI (A) as state party

Imphal, January 12 2025: The Election Commission of India (ECI) has granted recognition to the Republican Party of India-Athawale (RPI-A) as a state party.

Addressing the media at his Keishamthong residence, on Sunday, national secretary Maheshwor Thounaojam said RPI-A will continue to shoulder the responsibility as a regional party and prioritise bringing an end to the conflict in the state.

He then appreciated the people for believing and trusting in the party till date.

He affirmed that if interests of Manipur are at stake, the high command will not be of importance but respect sentiment of the people.

Maheshwor also informed that the symbol allotted to the state party by ECI is a farmer planting sugarcane.
