Awareness prog on cyber-crime conducted

Kakching, September 18 2024:
An awareness programme on cyber-crime was organised at Aimol Khodamphai community hall, Tengnoupal district on Wednesday, by Numei SHG Multipurpose Cooperative Society Limited (NUSMUCOS Ltd) in collaboration with District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Chandel under the: aegis of Manipur State Legal Services Authority (MASLSA) and National Legal Services Authority (NALSA).
The programme started with welcome address by NUSMUCOS Ltd vice president Tonarthang Marem, while, DLSA retainer lawyer Jacky Lucy deliberated on gullibility of the youngsters and illiterate parents to fall into cyber trap.
As the resource person of the programme, Lucy elaborated that frauds are increasing relying on advances of technology such as scam calls seeking personal and bank details under the.garb of bank KYC updating, misuse of internet, online job offerings by displaying attractive offers, earn easy money, etc.
She further provided information about cyber portal to raise any cases related to cybercrime including helpline No 1930/112, National Cyber Crime Portal, Manipur help line No 0385-2444888 and cyber-crime police stations at Ragailong and Kairang Meitei, Imphal East district.
The event ended with a vote of thanks by NUSMUCOS Ltd secretary Caroline Marim, thanking the resource person, DLSA Chandel and all participants.
