Imphal, April 15 2025:
The proscribed Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP) celebrated its 45th Raising Day on Monday (April 14) at the central headquarters (CHQ), general headquarters (GHQ), mobile units and districts of the outfit.
According to a KCP statement, the main celebration was held at 141 battalion headquarters with KYKL/MYL chief of army staff K Nimai as chief guest, KCP general secretary H Poirei as president and KYKL deputy finance secretary L Ingba and deputy organisation secretary M Tompok, and KCP/MFL chief of army staff H Ibomcha as guests of honour.
The event commenced with lighting of ceremonial lamp and unfurling of party's flag by dignitaries, followed by homage and salute to revolutionaries who laid down their lives during the course of movement for restoring the lost sovereignty of Kangleipak (Manipur) and reading out of the annual statement of the party given to the people on the occasion, stated the KCP statement issued by secretary in-charge of information and publicity S Mangal.
Referring to the presence of K Nimai at the main celebration venue, the statement said KCP and KYKL have been working together to achieve revolutionary goals and stressed the need for carrying forward revolutionary struggle with unity.
It also quoted H Poirei as saying during the event that revolutionaries need to bring unity not by compelling circumstances but through confidence and genuine commitment.
Poirei also reminded that revolutionaries are the guardians of the people and must safeguard the people accordingly, maintained the statement.
It further stressed that the people should encourage and strengthen revolutionaries; or else, both will face dire consequences, as articulated by party general secretary H Poirei during the main celebration.
