In her speech, Poirei Leimarol general secretary Apabi Leima also recounted Ima Kombi's courage in standing up for the people of Manipur amid the trying times when killings by security forces under the immunity granted by AFSPA 1958 was at its peak in the 1980s.While accusing the central government of waging a proxy war in Manipur in collusion with armed Kukis, she asserted that in-spite of the challenges posed, mothers of Manipur will not step back a bit.
