AR interacts with students, saves man

Assam Rifles held 'A day with company commander' for students of Chingmeirong Government Upper Primary School, Imphal East at the company's operating base at Chingmeirong on April 27 .
The event brought together 50 students and 18 teachers of the Primary School.
The event focussed on interaction, games, fostering spirit of camaraderie, sportsmanship and raising awareness about the Assam Rifles.
The programme commenced with a warm welcome from the Assam Rifles to the school authorities and students.
The event included numerous fun filled activities like musical chair and tug-of-war, followed by a motivational lecture.
It culminated with an interaction with students over refreshments, said a release of PRO IGAR (S) .
Meanwhile, Assam Rifles evacuated one Nekheite (23), of Shalluk with a case of poisonous snake bite to a medical facility at their Shalluk location on April 26 .
The victim had complaints of multiple episodes of vomit, giddiness and swelling over his right lower limb, as well as an active haemorrhage and an apparent snake bite.
The Assam Rifles medical team treated the man with anti-snake venom and supportive treatment and after the condition of the patient stabilised, referred to a centre with better medical care facilities, said the PRO in another release.
