The 13th foundation day of Students' Union of Kangleipak (SUK) was celebrated at its Wangkhei office on Wednesday.
Speaking on the occasion, SUK president Ningthoujam Dhanakumar noted that the ongoing crisis in the state has severely impacted the students with many in a dilemma over career option.
Expressing concern that certain individuals and groups seem to be scheming to mislead the students, he referred to an unfamiliar organisation christened All Manipur Students mobilising students to assemble at DM College for taking out a protest rally on Wednesday.
Further stating that six major student bodies in the state are unaware of the said group, and have no clue about brainchild of the new organisation, Dhanakumar remarked that students are most vulnerable to face unwanted consequences if nefarious elements succeed in wooing the youngsters to launch agitation.
As such it is imperative that students remain and understand the underlying reasons for any agitation, rather than being exploited by deceitful elements.
The president also stressed the importance of collectively working to address the crisis and restore peace in the state.
As part of the foundation day celebration, edibles were distributed to various children and old age homes.
