AMSU and DESAM has jointly submitted a memorandum containing 20-points demands for upliftment of education system in the state to the state education minister on November 5 last, informed representatives of the two students body today at a press conference held at DESAM office at Keishampat.
Copies of the same memorandum have also been forwarded to the private secretary of the state chief minister and education commissioner, said Y Ratankumar and T Premananda general secretaries of DESAM and AMSU respectively.
Among others, the memorandum urged the state government to convert into work the constitution of Manipur Education Commission which was recommended in 1991, to re-organize the state education (s) department, modification of recruitment rules of the education department.
To make transfer policy of the school teachers, to open offices of DI of schools, to re-look into the rationalization of posting of teachers, etc, the two general secretaries said.
While observing that government could not convert into action, the demands at the earliest, if the state government asked them to assist in the converting it into action, they are ready, they added.
