Books on folktales, novel released

Imphal, April 28 2024:
'Soraren's Youngest Daughter Leimashang and Other Folk Tales', a book translated by Dr Khumukcham Ajit and a drama book, 'Tutenglonne' along with a novel, 'Nongthrei Pareng', penned by Arambam Memchoubi were released in a function organised by Writers Forum Imphal at Manipur Press Club here on Sunday.
During the release function, which was presided over by Forum vice president Irengbam Basanta, Modern College retired associate professor Chongtham Rita Devi shared her views on the book, 'Soraren's Youngest Daughter Leimashang and Other Folk Tales', while PhD scholar Nando Ningomba spoke on 'Tutenglonne' and Manipur University School of Humanities ex-dean Nahakpam Aruna on 'Nongthrei Pareng'.
Meanwhile, an anthology of poems, titled "Chahi Cha-gee Ima" penned by Wangoo Laipham High School, Kakching headmistress and Poirei Kumhou Khorjei Lup, Kumbi cashier Bhavini Aribam was launched in a function organised by Poirei Kumhou Khorjei Lup at Ibudhou Ishing Chaiba Haraobung Thel, Kumbi Ward No 9 on Saturday.
The launch event was attended by Bishnupur Zone-IV ZEO N Chingkhei Singh as chief guest and Lup president Wahengbam Bijoy Singh as president while Kumbi Municipal Council caretaker chairperson Wahengbam Priyoranjan Singh, deputy inspector of schools Moi rangthem Meghachandra and IMAKOL, Awang Potshangbam founder president Dr Rk Gunachandra Singh were the guests of honour.
Various writers and authors also attended and recited their works during the function.
