Dimapur, July 03 2015 :
NSCN (IM) on Friday asserted that it has every right to collect taxes within the outfit's jurisdiction.
Claiming that such legitimacy is natural, NSCN (IM) said it was the "torch bearer" of Naga political legacy, the people and its land and resource.
In a statement, the outfit declared that the Nagas' right to decide their future is legitimate and "as ancient, incorruptible and as real as they are" with their land that is not disputable even as the Government of India finds no difficulty to accept the fact that the sustained and vexed conflict between the Union Government of India and the Nagas is "not domestic or law and order issue" .
These truths stand witness to the conflict in the past, today and to the future till an honorable political treaty between the two separate political bodies is signed, said NSCN (IM) .
The outfit further stated that the two accepted political entities had been engaged in a prolonged dialogue and "now culminating to a coherent and honorably acceptable conclusion" .
The statement also asserted that it is an affront to the spirit of Naga nationalism, antagonism to the political movement to evade tax.
"Exploiting the land and resources for individual profit without the "return tax" is a crime in every country.
Nobody shall take advantage of the volatile environment created by the adversary and their agents by evading taxation.
From now on NSCN (IM) will pursue any such defaulter and execute accordingly", it warned.
NSCN (IM) said it is equally criminal to get oneself involve in abetting tax evasion, instigating non-compliance and obstructing taxation.
It is the inherent right of every government of the world to impose and collect revenue and thus in Nagalim, it is the Government of The People's Republic of Nagalim (GPRN)'s right to implement taxation.
"Therefore, any organization, group or individual found indulging in challenging the political authority of NSCN/GPRN in any manner shall not be spared but be given exemplary punishment", the outfit warned.
