AMUCO new office bearers sworn in

The new office bearers of All Manipur United Clubs' Organization (AMUCO) have sworn in today on the last day of its two-day general conference held at the Hall of Manipur Dramatic Union, Yaiskul Police Lane here.
The new office bearers of AMUCO are Y Mani Khuman as President; Ph Deben, K Helen and W Gonendro as Vice-Presidents; MC Modhuchandra as General Secretary; N Shyamsunder as Finance Secretary; S Jameskumar as Publicity Secretary; T Gandhi as Organization Secretary and KT Rahman and Yangsosong Koireng as Advisors.
Advocates N Joychandra and Ch Dhananjoy administered the oaths to the new office bearers of AMUCO.
Speaking on the occasion, former President of AMUCO KT Rahman said that Manipur is a unique land where more than 30 communities are living together in peace and harmony.
The Organization stands firm to safeguard the territorial integrity of the State and maintain unity among different communities, he affirmed.
He further recalled that the people of Manipur had strongly opposed the extension of Indo-NSCN (IM) cease fire agreement to the State and stood firm to safeguard the territorial integrity.
18 martyrs had even laid down their lives for the cause of State's integrity on June 18, 2001, he noted.
AMUCO would forever stand to uphold peace, unity and harmony in the State and defend any ploy to disintegrate the integrity of the State, Rahman contended.
Floral tributes were also paid to the departed members of AMUCO namely Ahanthem Nilamani, Th Irabot and Oinam Romeo.
