Daily test positivity report rose to 2.49 per cent on Monday as government bulletins reported 23 new positive cases of Covid-19 out of 923 samples tested in the last 24 hours.
The daily positivity rate remained below 2 per cent for the last 13 days from December 7 but it crossed 2 per cent on Monday.
Meanwhile, no death cases were reported on Monday and the death toll remains at 1995.On the other hand, the Common Control Room of the health department has asked 13 flight passengers, who travelled to Imphal by Air India flight number AI-889 on December 11 in seat numbers 5-11, and Indigo flight number 6E-874 on December 12 in seat numbers 25-30, to report to the Common Control Room 1800-345-3818 or respective District Surveillance Officers (DSO) immediately for further surveillance and necessary quarantine and testing.
However, the report does not mention if they have detected positive cases from among the incoming flight passengers.
Meanwhile, the active caseload rose to 204 out of which 40 (19.61 per cent) are in home isolation.
There is no updated information on bed availabilities in hospitals and Covid Care Centres.
Out of the 16 districts, only five reported fresh Covid cases on Monday with Imphal West reporting highest cases at 12 .
So far, the state has recorded 96,250 positive cases and 1621 fatalities since the beginning of the second wave of the pandemic.
The current month has reported 445 new positive cases and 18 fatalities out of which 115 new cases and 5 fatalities were added in the last seven days alone.
According to official reports, all the 23 fresh cases (16 male & 7 female) are from among the general population and their samples were confirmed at JNIMS (12) and other testing centres (11) .
The positive cases are from Imphal East (8), Imphal West (12), Bishnupur (1), Kangpokpi (1) and Chandel (1).All necessary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.
In the last 24 hours, 14 patients were discharged from home isolation (4), JNIMS (4) and CCCs (6) .
The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 1,25,650 (general population - 1,21,217 and CAPF personnel - 4,433) .
Number of recovered cases is 1,23,451 (general population - 1,19,024 and CAPF personnel - 4,427) and number of active cases is 204 (general population - 203 and CAPF personnel - 1) .
The recovery rate is 98.25 per cent.
A total of 252 D-type and 77 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities in the last 24 hours.
Only 1369 vaccine doses were administered on Sunday and it took the cumulative number vaccinated people to 13,11,828 out of which 9,58,096 are fully vaccinated.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (44,097), Imphal East (27,911), Thoubal (9489), Churachandpur (10,191), Kangpokpi (2789), Tamenglong (3284), Bishnupur (9233), Senapati (2249), Ukhrul (2998), Kakching (6450), Chandel (2366), Noney (1075), Tengnoupal (1077), Jiribam (1022), Kamiong (955) and Pherzawl (464) .
Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (668), Imphal East (479), Thoubal (178), Churachandpur (162), Kangpokpi (62), Tamenglong (14), Bishnupur (193), Senapati (10), Ukhrul (44), Kakching (115), Chandel (41), Noney (4), Tengnoupal (13), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (5) and Pherzawl (0) .
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 40,491 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 24,822 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 4,66,611 tests per million population against the national average of 4,75,410 TPM.
Case fatality rate stands at 1.59 per cent.
In the past 24 hours, only 923 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 2.49 per cent per cent while the cumulative positivity stands
at 8.68 per cent.
