No MGEL? No problem

Translating its assurance into action, the State Government has passed an order allowing payment of 11 months salaries to all the Primary teachers and other teachers recruited under Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA) regardless of whether their names have been included in Manipur Government Employees List (MGEL) or not.
Informing this to Hueiyen Lanpao, Education Minister Moirangthem Okendro said that like other employees of the State Government, the 11 months salaries for 1603 Primary teachers and 534 other teachers recruited under RMSA would be handed out before Ningol Chakkouba which falls on November 15.Apart from this, the process for distributing salaries to teachers of Aided Colleges and Grant-in-aid colleges is underway.
Informing that the State Government has started paying special attention to Higher Education since October 1 last, the Minister assured that the post of regular Principals in 27 Government Colleges which have been lying vacant for the last many years will be appointed by December 31 this year.
The appointment process will be conducted in a free and fair manner, the Minister added.
Furthermore, the Minister assured that in addition to the proposal for setting up one Government Polytechnic in every district of the state, one women's college would also be establish in all the nine districts of the State shortly.
The Minister informed that so far 254 primary schools have been upgraded and 100 primary schools have been given approval for upgradation.
At least one teacher will be posted in each of the Upper Primary Schools which have been upgraded from primary schools during the academic session 2007-08 while three teachers each will be posted in all the 158 Upper Primary Schools upgraded during the academic session 2012-13.For this purpose, 574 teachers have been recruited under RMSA and their postings will be specified very soon, he added.
Answering to a query, the Minister said that though the State Government is not able to pay special attention to the teachers of aided schools, something positive might come in the near future.
