Pharmacies sell dextrose double the actual price

Imphal, May 18 2011:
Dextrose solution use in saving life was found selling in pharmacies more than double time the actual retail price.
However, no action was taken up so far by the state medical directorate, the concerned authority, till date.
Out of four kinds of dextrose intravenous solution are available in the pharmacies, two, dextrose 10% and dextrose RL which are to be sold at Rs 25 per bottle are sold at the rate from Rs 75 to Rs 95 currently.
Some of these two kinds of dextrose are found leveling fake maximum retail price (MRP) while some of them not leveling its price.
While other two kinds of dextrose, DNS and NST are not available in any of the pharmacies.
There is apprehension that a gang behind the control of these intravenous solution use in saving life.
Zelco which is used in the injection of dextrose is also selling at higher rate then the actual price.
Four types of zelco, no.18, 20, 22 and 24, are available in pharmacies.
The MRP of these zelco is Rs 25 but they are selling at the rate of Rs 72 to Rs 80 .
The IV set which cost only Rs 10 to Rs 15 are also selling at Rs 35 to Rs 80 in most of the pharmacies.
Syringe which cost only Rs 5 is also available at Rs 20 .
Some syringes stick MRP while others are not.
