Jatra joins BJP along with 300 MPP workers

Imphal, February 14 2013: BJP today officially announced joining of Laishram Jatra, who had been elected a number of times from Khangabok A/C and had even been a Minister, along with 300 members of MPP, during a grand reception function hosted at the office of BJP, Manipur State Unit in Nityaipat Chuthek here today.

The development has come few days after noted statesman Prof Gangmumei joined the BJP.

Speaking on the occasion, Th Chaoba, President, BJP, Manipur State Unit, stated with confidence that the Congress is surely to collapse at the Centre and it is a matter of time that the Congress party in Manipur will cease to exist.

The BJP Chief, while highlighting the alleged misdeeds of the Congress in the State, stated that the corruption rooted governance of the Congress at the centre as well as in the State has shaken the entire nation.

Congress leaders are only filling up their private pockets with the hard earned money of the people of the country.

With the money illegally collected from the public, the Congress is playing the politics of money and muscle power during election time.

"This corrupted Congress government needs both at the Centre and in the State needs to be replaced.

Instead of sending a Congress candidate for the inner and the outer parliamentary Constituency, there is the need to bring up an MP of BJP.", he said, adding that since BJP has got a stable base at seven Assembly Constituencies in the valley, it is certain that BJP would be coming out with huge votes in the next election.

The joining of L Jatra in BJP will further help the party in acquiring more votes, he said.

Shantikumar Sharma, former President of BJP, Manipur State Unit, observed that L Jatra is a politician who never gets wearied of contesting elections and serving the people.

It is just a matter of time that the present CM will fade away and the time of L Jatra will arrive.

The function was also attended by other party leaders like Meinam Bhorot and other active members of BJP.
