UADC session begins

Imphal, August 04 2016: The two-day councillors house session of Ukhrul District Au- tonomous Council (UADC) for the term 2016-17 began today at Circuit House Hamleikhong, Ukhrul presided by UADC chairman Dr Yaronsho Ngalung, our correspondent reports.

The chairman while welcoming all the members of UADC, urged them to contribute their wisdom on how to develop the district in all spheres.

Media persons who went to cover the UADC house session faced humiliated as no medias booths/seats were arranged.

To top it, the organisers allowed only photo jour- nalists to enter the hall assuring them that the media would be brief later after the session.

The media persons then left the hall disappointed.

It may be mentioned that the House Session was earlier scheduled on July 22 and 23 but was reschedule on August 4 and 5. UADC chairman Dr Yaronsho Ngalung who presided the session today tabled the financial reports of 2015-16 (upto March 31) and the administrative report.

The Annual Plan 2016-17, ADC Act 1971 and 2008 amendment, the ongoing construction of ADC Administra- tive Building at Phungreitang, separate account head for 26 departments for which powers have been devolved by the Government, land valuations within and around the district headquarters of Ukhrul, pension for ADC employee and other especially DRDA will be discussed in the two days long session.
