Sarda reaches out to pregnant women at relief camp

Imphal, May 22 2023: BJP State unit president A Sarda Devi has reached out to pregnant women who fled from their places due to the unrest in Manipur and have been taking shelter at a relief camp set up at Khuman Lampak, today.

It is reported that five pregnant women are taking shelter at the youth hostel of Khuman Lampak.

The relief camp is being opened under the supervision of the BJP State unit.

Speaking to media persons today, A Sarda said that 11 pregnant women were found taking shelter at seven relief camps set up at Moirang while going there to distribute relief material along with a medical team.

Saying that the relief camp at the youth hostel of Khuman Lampak was opened especially to attend to the needs of pregnant women as they need a healthy diet, Sarda continued that they are considering keeping the pregnant women for three months after giving birth at the relief camp.

Further stating that other pregnant women and new mothers may take shelter at the youth hostel of Khuman Lampak, Sarda maintained that a health facility is also given at the relief camp.

The Government will give all possible assistance to the inmates of the relief camp, she added.
