Imphal, April 05 2009: The state Health and Family Welfare minister, Ph Parijat today said that the CPI candidate, Dr M Nara is the ablest candidate among the entire contenders in the inner constituency for the coming Lok Sabha election.

Speaking during the reception ceremony of a motorcycle rally organised as a part of the election campaign of the Communist Party of India's candidate, Moirangthem Nara today at Chingarel Tezpur ground Parijat said that the days when an able orator could amass voters in large numbers were gone with the increase of educated people.

The Health minister said that the BJP, INC, MPP and CPI candidates for the coming election are the four major contenders in the eyes of the public while saying that to elect one among them is the responsibility of the people.

He urged the people to collectively decide the fittest candidate among the contestants.

Contending that Dr Nara fits the bill to be a representative of the people in the Parliament, Parijat urged the people to consider wisely as the right man to send to the Parliament as their representative.

Though acknowledging MPP's candidate Th Chaoba as a seasoned politician, Parijat said that he was not only an MP but a minister during the extension of the (NSCN-Government) Ceasefire in Manipur.

Parijat charged that Chaoba remained silent during that episode while saying that he would have resigned had he been a CPI MP.

He said that the BJP candidate, W Nipamacha had once been the Chief Minister of the state.

But the people lived a miserable life during his regime as he was unable to disburse pays of the employees for months.

Ph Parijat left the ball in people's court to judge whether the sitting MP and Congress Candidate, T Meinya was an efficient MP or not.

On the bigoted charge that CPI candidate Dr Nara is not having his own home polling in the inner constituency, Parijat said that Dr Nara was prevailing in nine assembly constituencies during the last general election and those constituencies would be his home polling stations.

He said that such charge is nothing but politics of exclusivity.

Referring to the matter that party with larger number of MLAs will win the Parliamentary election, Parijat made it straight that not all MLAs have been elected by getting all the votes in a constituency.

They are elected by just getting one third of the total votes.

He said that a crack is developing within the UPA regarding the seat sharing in UP and Bihar and all the partners will deviate and join the Third Front.

He said that if the Third Front happens to come to power in the centre, Dr Nara is likely to be given a minister post considering his seniority in the North Eastern states.

The motorcycle rally was organised for the CPI's inner Manipur candidate Dr Moirangthem Nara, carrying a message to vote for him in the coming Lok Sabha election.

The rally was started from Yangangpokpi covering various places in Imphal East district.
