Imphal, April 28 2010: Even though the general secretary of Manipur Secretariat Service Association (MSSA) and two representatives of agitating JAC have been detained by the police, the Ministerial team (Cabinet Sub-Committee) led by Revenue Minister Th Debendra is preparing to hold talks with the agitating employees tomorrow noon.

Disclosing this to The Sangai Express, a senior Cabinet Minister of the SPF Government informed that the Ministerial team had invited the striking employees for a joint meeting at around 4 pm today.

However, as there were some inconveniences on the part of the employees to come together as most of them are in hiding to evade police arrest, the meeting has been rescheduled tomorrow noon.

On top of the Ministerial team, spokesperson of the SPF Govt and Sports Minister N Biren would also participated in the talk , the senior Cabinet Minister said.

The Cabinet Minister, however, declined to elaborate on what offer the Government is going to place before the agitating employees or under what conditions the talk is proposed to be held.

On the other hand, the representatives of the striking employees are scheduled to meet Governor Gurbachan Jagat for the second time tomorrow at 11 am in connection with their demand for implementation of the Central 6th Pay Commission in totality.

Meanwhile, the general secretary of Manipur Secretariat Service Association L Purujit has been reportedly picked up by personnel of Imphal East District Police from his New Checkon residence last night.

Former vice president of JAC of AMTUC and AMGEO Tongbram Tikendrajit has also been picked up by the Imphal West police from his Uripok Bachaspati Leikai residence last night while the incumbent vice president Ningthoujam Manihar was also picked up from his Sagolband Tera Amudon Leirak residence today.

From the side of the police, it has already been made clear that the detained employees can be present at the talk tomorrow afternoon but they would not be released.

In the meantime, an order issued by the Department of Personnel today has invoked dies non against all the personal and section staff of Art and Culture Department and seven other staff of Fisheries Department who did not report for duties since yesterday.

Following the strike of the employees, functioning of the Government has remained paralysed and the agitating JAC has imposed restriction on entry of visitors in the Secretariat.
