The State health authority has received examination reports from the National Institute of Communicable Diseases (NICD), new Delhi regarding outbreak of the unknown disease in Bishnupur district headquarters area that had reportedly claimed 12 lives.
While Health Department sources acknowledged receipt of the NICD report they, however declined to divulge details insisting that similar samples would be sent again for confirmation.
Consequently State health authorities scoured for another set of samples from the infected persons for dispatch to New Delhi, the source maintained and asserted that only after confirmation of the second report findings of the mysterious disease can be made public.
Mention may be made that experts of the NICD had scanned the affected areas to examine the disease outbreak and cull relevant information that include collection of blood samples.
The five member expert team had also gathered furs of household animals like dogs, cats and mouse in order to verify whether they act as vector of the unknown disease.
The NICD report was sent to the State health authorities a couple of days back, further said the source.
