Bpr/Jbm/Kak/Tpl/Tbl, September 30 2021: The 125th birth anniversary of Jana Neta Hijam Irabot was celebrated by various clubs, associations, groups/bodies in Manipur.

BISHNUPUR
In line with the celebration of Irabot Day, cleanliness drives were carried out in various places of Bishnupur district on Thursday.

The Moirang Part I Educated Unemployed Youths' Pisciculture Co-operative Society Ltd of Chingnungsoi conducted a cleanliness drive along Keipha road.

The volunteers of Kumam Youth Club (KYC) Kumam also carried out cleanliness drives at Moirang Kumam Leikai and INA Memorial.

Similar programmes were also held at Moirang Khoiru Leikai, Sunusiphai and Phubala.

JIRIBAM
Jana Neta Irawat Memorial Trust (JIMET), Jiribam on Thursday celebrated the 125th birth anniversary of Hijam Irabot by paying floral tributes to the statue of Lamyamba Hijam Irabot at Irawat Complex in Babupara, Jiribam followed by a public meeting at PWD Guest House.

The programme was attended by Manipur Food Industries Corporation Limited vice chairman, K Sarat Kumar Singh; Dr Chandam Kamal Singh, life time president JIMET and K Khumanjao, vice president JIMET as presidium members.

Dr S Arun Kumar Mangang, Asst Professor, Jiri College also took part in the programme as a special invitee.

Later, prizes for District Level Open On-Line Patriotic Poem Competition organised by JIMET were also distributed to Moirangthem Satyabat of Harinagar, L Phajalembi Chanu of Chandrapur and K Nitali Chanu of Dibong Khunou for securing first, second and third position respectively.

KAKCHING
In line with the celebration of Irabot Day, L Sharat @ Tona Meitei, Pradhan Wangoo Gram Panchayat and chairman, Village Water and Sanitation Committee led a tree plantation drive at Wangoo Water Supply Scheme in Wangoo Tampha Lairembi Ching under Sungu AC.

The programme was attended by members of Wangoo Gram Panchayat, L Jayenta, Kh Ibeton, Th Achoubi, A Angousana, A Thamani and Wangoo Development Committee secretary, A Oken.

Meanwhile, Ng Anthony Suresh, OC Sugnu PS also led a cleanliness drive at Sugnu Bazar to commemorate the 125th birth anniversary of Hijam Irabot.

It was jointly conducted with the club members of Wisdom Club, Sugnu Covid-19 Task Force, Sugnu Municipal Council, CDO personnel and Sugnu Fire Brigade.

TENGNOUPAL
MCM, ACODOM, AMSU Tengnoupal District Committee, Nupi Khunai Chaokhat Lamjing Lup and Kha Nongpok Apunba Nupi Lup also jointly celebrated the birth anniversary of 'Lamyanba Hijam Irabot' at Ima Kondong Lairembi Haraobung in Moreh.

During the programme, candles were lit and floral tributes were paid to a portrait of Hijam Irabot.

THOUBAL
Irabot Day was also celebrated in various places of Thoubal district.

Kekru Yairi Club Yairipok (KYCY) celebrated Irabot Day by carrying out a cleanliness drive in Yairipok while Syed Anwar Hussain in association with youths, local clubs organised social service camp at Leiphrakpam, Oinam and Khekman.

Thoubal Kiyam Siphai Mamang Leikai Global Club, Health and Wellness Center Thoubal Kshetri Leikai, Tera Urak Ngamukhong Development Association (TUNGDA) also carried out cleanliness drives at various places on the day.
