71st Republic Day celebration held across districts of Manipur

Imphal, January 27 2020: The 71st Republic Day celebration was organised across the districts with pomp and ceremonial splendour yesterday.

The DC concerned unfurled the National flag at the respective location of the event while march past contingents were awarded for their performances during the ceremony.

Apart from enthralling and exciting cultural performances, awards and citations were also presented to outstanding Government employees, institutes, police personnel, social workers, youth clubs etc, as part of the celebration
.

BISHNUPUR: The celebration was held at Old Mini-Secretariat Ground, Bishnupur yesterday in which DC Neeta Arambam took salute of the marching contingents from 18 parade contingents led by Ksh Shivakanta, ASP/Bpr.

The parade contingents comprised of civil police, VDF, Home Guard, Anganwadi workers, ASHA, Joganti Society, cadets of NCC units and school children.

Presentation of colourful cultural items, skits show with the theme, 'Nupi sun mi ni', Yoga and gymnastic displays marked the occasion.

Special award for BBBP was presented to L Bashanta, Pradhan and P Nemthoibi, Principal of Ningthoukhong Hr Sec School.

The Plains and Hills Development Organization (PHDO), Ithai Khunou was awarded the outstanding best youth club award 2019-2020.Chairman, MSPCB L Radhakishore, SP Laishram Priyadashini, DLOs, Pradhans attended the event as dignitaries among army officials and the public.

Chandel: District Administration Chandel celebrated Republic Day at Maha Union Hr Sec School ground.

DC Krishna Kumar took the Guard of Honour.

The DC said that the Government is taking up various steps to ensure social and economic development of the people.

24 march past contingents comprising of district police, VDF, Ex-Serviceman, Anganwadi workers and different schools of the district participated in the celebration.

SDPO, Chandel commanded the parade.

The celebration was attended by SP Chandel, Commanding officer 8MR, Commanding Officer 18 AR, ADC, SDO, DLOs, other officials and public of the district.

CCpur: Republic Day was celebrated in grandeur at Tuibong Peace Ground, Churachandpur.

DC Pawan Yadav took salute of the marching contingents from 29 Parade Contingents led by Lalrinum Pulamte, AC 1st IRB Churachandpur, comprising of civil police, BSF, Ex-Servicemen, VDF, cadets of different NCC units, school children and 1st IRB Band Party.

Pawan Yadav said that Churachandpur is moving towards ODF plus with focus on ODF sustainability and solid and liquid waste management, apart from collecting plastics, used in road construction, in huge quantity by NHJDCL.

He said that under MGNREGA, five blocks have been converted to e-FMS block in the district and focus is on to convert all blocks into e-FMS to ensure direct benefit transfer.

He lauded the district hospital for receiving the prestigious Health Kayakalp Award an other health centres for their recognition.

Under BBBP, FootGal 2019 was held successfully apart from organising the only District Level Girls Badminton Tournament last year, maintained the DC.

As mandated by the 86th Amendment of the Constitution, children from 6 to 14 years are to be provided free uniform, textbooks and compulsory education to all Government Schools under SSA, asserted the DC.

The DC congratulated Master Lalkansung, a 10 year old boy from Muolbem Village, who was conferred the National Bravery Award recently.

Stalls were also opened by different departments.

Members from ADC; SP Amrita Sinha; DLOs, army officials, BSF officials, chiefs and social activists attended the grand Republic Day Celebration.

Jiribam: The 71st Republic Day was celebrated at Jiribam DHQs, under the aegis of the Jiribam District Administration.

The celebration began with the parade inspection led by DC, Jiribam W Malemnganba Chenglei followed by National anthem while the DC took Guard of Honour.

A march past began from RK Sanatombi Devi Vidyalaya campus to Jiribam Higher Secondary School playground in which the parade was led by Thangjam Sanatomba, SDPO Jiribam District Police along with 32 contingents comprising of police personnel, VDF, 87 Bn CRPF, 7th IRB, various schools, colleges contingents and cultural dance troupes.

The DC appreciated all the contingents who participated in the march past.

On the other hand, 119 Infantry Battalion TA (Assam) also displayed different weapons, arms and ammunition on the Republic day while students displayed patriotic songs and dance.

The event was attended by elected members of the district, DLOs and large number of public from in and around of the district.

Kakching: Kakching district administration district also celebrated the day at District Sports Association Kakching.

DC Velentina Arambam unfurled the tricolour flag.

With SDPO Sugnu as the parade commander, 27 contingents took part in the march past.

Councillors, Zilla Parishad members, Pradhans, SP Kakching Victoria Yengkhom and officials of district administration were present at the function.

Lauding the people of the district, she appealed to all the people of the district to work together towards making Kakching the most developed district in the State.

Kangpokpi: District Administration Kangpokpi celebrated the day at the Brigadier M Thomas Ground in which DC Lalithambigai K took salute of 24 marching contingents, including contingents from Kangpokpi Police, VDF, 14 Bn NCC, ASHA, ICDS, Fire Service, Ex-servicemen, AYUSH differently-abled groups, Bongmol Youth Club and several Government and private schools in the district.

The parade was commanded by Deputy Superintendent of Police, Kangpokpi Sony Siemgosang Gangte.

The DC said that Kangpokpi's people most valuable asset is self-belief and the denizens convert every challenge into opportunities to achieve development in the district.

A special issue of "Kangpokpi Today", published by DIO Kangpokpi was released on the occasion.

A large number of dignitaries including Chairman, SH-ADC, Kangpokpi, Haokholal Hangshing, CEO, SH-ADC, Kangpokpi, James Doujapao Haokip, SP PH Mahesh Naraian and several police and civil officers, participated in the celebration.

Senapati: Joining with the rest of the country, the District Administration Senapati also celebrated the day at Senapati Ground with DC Somorjit Salam as the chief guest.

24 march past contingents together with 3 band parties participated at the march past parade.

The DC paid homage to late leaders for brave sacrifices in securing freedom.

He stated that Senapati is progressing and recently, roads are being constructed to connect all the habitants, by the Government under various programmes and schemes.

Power supply has been drastically improved and social harmony strengthened while various Government facilities and services have been improved, he added.

The MGNREGS has been streamlined with online payment through e-FMS system to create durable and sustainable assets while providing job guarantee to the rural households in the district.

Water and natural resource conservation is being stressed and given special emphasis under PMKSY-Watershed Component (IWMP), which is benefiting more than 150 villages in the district.

With the functioning of a District hospital, one Sub-District Hospital, One CHC, 8 PHCs and 31 PHSCs, health services are being delivered to the people of the district, mentioned the DC.

Despite the shortcomings in manpower, infrastructure, equipment and medicines, the department of Health and Family Welfare is stroking to deliver health services needed for the needy people in the district, the DC noted.

He stated that the district received many awards like commendation Award of Kayakalp; Sub-District Hospital Award; Best PHC Kayakalp Awards etc.

He expressed gratitude to all doctors and health workers, security forces and relentless support of CSO, student community and women leaders.

Tamenglong: The District Administration Tamenglong celebrated the 71st Republic day at mini stadium lower ground, Tamenglong HQs.

DC Armstrong Pame took the salute of the march past contingent.

Altogether 27 contingents consisting of 5th MR platoon, Manipur civil police, VDF, NCC, scouts and guides and schools and college students walked march past.

Joshia Pamei, SDPO, Tamenglong was the overall parade commander of the march past contingents.

The DC said, since Tamenglong district is one of the largest forest-covered area in the State, the public should work together to protect the environment.

As part of the mission to protect the environment, the people of the district is targeting to reach lOOsq/km of land to be preserved as community forest reserve, added Pame.

Urging all parents to send their children to school, he said that under the "School Fagathansi mission", Tamenglong Hr Sec School and Langmei Hr Sec School Tamei have been selected from the district.

He also released "Tamenglong Voice", a magazine published by District Information Office (DIPR) Tamenlong.

Another enchanting award was single used plastic bottles collection where one Kaphianliu of Tamenglong ward No 8 collected 38019 plastic bottles.

She was given a cash award of Rs 10000.3 bikes were also given to some sub-divisional office including Tousem SDO, Tamei SDO and for Houchong sub-Divisional office to inspect MGNREGS activities in their sub divisional areas.

Members of ADC Tamenglong, district level officers Tamenglong, ward/chairman secretaries also attended the celebration.

Tengnoupal: The R-Day celebration was organised at Tengnoupal Government High School ground in which DC M Tajkumar took salute of the march past contingent.

Tengnoupal SP Th Vikramjit, BJP Manipur Pradesh vice president Benjamin Mate, ADC Moreh L Manikanta, officials of different department, CSOs, AR personnel, village chiefs attended the event.

On the other hand, ICP Manager Robin Gangte unfurled the National flag which was followed by salute to the flag and singing of the National anthem.

The Manager wished everyone happiness and prosperity on the occasion and expressed gratitude to Assam Rifles personnel who safeguarded the borders of the country.

Thoubal: People in Thoubal district came out in large numbers to celebrate the Republic Day.

DC N Bandana took salute of 52 march past contingents comprising of civil police, school children, cadets of different NCC Units, NYK, cultural troupes and Swacch Bharat Mission Tableau display of Thoubal Municipal Council at Chaoyaima Hr Sec School, Thoubal.

Copies of 'Thoubal Today' published by DIO (DIPR), Thoubal, which highlights the achievements of various departments, were also distributed on the occasion.

The DC said that ore than 350 ILP permits have been issued since its implementation she said and informed that exercise on Census 2021 will begin by April 15 this year.

Viral Hepatitis unit has also been opened in the hospital and started giving service to the public, she said while Emergency and Trauma Centre at the District Hospital will also be launched very soon, she assured.

She congratulated all the DLOs for their respective roles in bringing mass awareness and successful implementation of various programmes in the district.

Elected members of Municipal Council, Zilla Parishad and GPs, DLOs, Govt employees and a large crowd of people young and old attended the celebration.

Ukhrul: DC Ukhrul Joseph Pauline Kamson graced the Republic Day celebration at Bakshi ground, Hungpung in the presence of Ukhrul ADC chairman Dr Yaronsho Ngalung, Councillors, SP Worngam Ningshen, DLOs, Headmen and well wishers.

The DC highlighted various developmental programme taken up in the district.

Mentioning housing project for 2019- 2020, the target for the district is 640 houses at the unit cost of Rs 1,30,000 (one lakh thirty thousand) per house, he said.

The parade contingents was led by SDPO, Ukhrul CL Thotreithing.

Best Republic Gate was awarded to Ukhrul Forest division.
