Imphal, February 02 2015:
The Indigenous People's Association of Kangleipak has asserted that though it is a pre-requisite under the laws of the land for an applicant of Aadhar card to provide his real identity and address, many immigrants and non-Manipuris residents in Imphal are in the possession of Aadhar cards by furnishing false information about themselves.
Chairman of IPAK S Jadumani told mediapersons today that the people who originally hail from other states have prepared the cards by impersonating as genuine residents of Manipur.
After getting information about such fraudulent cases volunteers of IPAK conducted a probe on January 28 and nabbed eight such frauds, he stated.
Though, these persons originally hail from Barbisa village of Motihari district of Bihari they recorded their address as Sangaiporou FCI Godown in Imphal, he informed.
The eight persons were identified as Luxmi Devi, wife of Ramja Sahani; Pabitry Devi, wife of Rajendra Sahani; Kanti Devi wife of Nak Sahani; Asha Devi, wife of Vigu Sahani; Meenakshi Devi, wife of Gautam Sahani; Urmila Devi, wife of Maneger Sahani; and Sukhi Kumari and Anandi Kumari, both daughters of Sangkar Sahani.
