Imphal, April 28 2024:
While terming the attack on the 2nd IRB camp at Naranseina by Chin-Kuki narco-terrorists, which claimed the lives of two CRPF personnel and left two others injured, as an act of terrorism, Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI) demanded that either the CBI or the NIA probe the incident so that culprits are booked and punished as per law of the land.
The government of India should also conduct counter operation to nab Chin-Kuki narco-terrorists involved in the Naranseina attack to ensure that rule of law prevails in the country or else it would be a big blot on process and effectiveness of India's military ranked fourth in the world at present, the COCOMI said in a statement.
According to the COCOMI, Chin-Kuki narco-terrorists targeted oil and gas tankers escorted by CRPF personnel on April 16 morning between Tollen and Kaimai village along the Imphal-Jiribam road causing damage to some tankers and injuring two drivers while on April 22, Chin-Kuki narco-terrorists exploded at least three IEDs on a bridge between Sapermeina and Koubru Leikha along the Imphal-Dimapur road thereby severely affecting traffic movement along the highway.
On the next day, Chin-Kuki narco-terrorist, as if warning openly to both Indian and Manipur governments, claimed of executing the attacks but no action against the narco-terrorist groups involved is forthcoming from both governments, COCOMI said and asked if oil, gas, essential commodities and other goods brought into the state through the national highways are meant solely for a particular community.
Questioning the hidden agenda behind the attack on state force and CRPF by Chin-Kuki narco-terrorist, COCOMI said acts of terrorism being committed by Chin-Kuki narco-terrorists cannot be taken lightly while expressing that inaction of central and state governments is akin to aiding the narco-terrorists to carry out terrorist acts freely and openly.
The COCOMI also wondered how long the central forces deployed in Manipur will remain silent despite terrorist acts of Chin-Kuki narco-terrorists.
According to the COCOMI, altogether 11 security personnel have lost their lives in the ongoing violence since May 3, 2023 with the latest casualties being the CRPF personnel including a sub-inspector in the Naranseina attack.
Apart from them, more than 30 security personnel of central and state forces also suffered injuries in the same attack.
People of the state are well aware that militants who carried out attack at the Naranseina CRPF post came through the area manned by Sikh Regiment, COCOMI said and asked what action the government will initiate against breach of security in the area.
Questioning the hidden agenda behind increasing attacks by Chin-Kuki narco-terrorist towards Meetei villages, the COCOMi said attacks on Koutruk, Kadangband, Senjam Chirang, Serou and other Meetei villages continue unabated and more intensely.
The ongoing crisis not only confined indigenous people of Manipur particularly the Meetei community to the valley but also allowed Chin-Kuki narco-terrorists to surround and control the Meetei people for nearly one year, the COCOMI said and asked the Centre and Manipur government if there is any difference between Pakistan Occupied Kashmir in certain part of Kashmir and the present situation in Manipur.
If the present situation continues for some more time, people will surely raise the question if India and Manipur governments are under the control of Kuki militants, the COCOMI said and cautioned both governments to take up immediate necessary action in this regard.
